Pacman.io

In 2018, I worked at Miniclip on Pacman.io, an online multiplayer take on the classic arcade game where players compete in real-time. I worked on both client-side code using Emscripten and server-side features, pushing the game to completion and working closely with production to meet release deadlines.

I made significant performance improvements to the rendering routines, gaining ~36% FPS improvement (from ~30fps to ~41fps). I also created a runtime texture packer algorithm using bin-packing to reduce memory usage and improved networking data structures to reduce bandwidth. On this project I had the pleasure to work with Hugo Ferreira, who has become one of my closest friends :)
